"We Can't Wait for Monday!"

Human Resource professionals are internal consultants who help organizations realize their collective and individual performance potential. This presentation will look at a best practice organization that creates a work experience where people, "can't wait for Monday".  We will examine HR's role in developing this type of workplace culture.

Pam Gardiol, President Gardiol & Associates

Ms. Gardiol has done extensive organizational development work in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. A sample of clients includes Utah Department of Transportation, City of Seattle, Utah Housing Corporation, Nordstrom, 3M, and Utah State Courts. Ms. Gardiol addresses the human side of organizational process redesign by helping people address root causes of performance gaps.

She has worked with organizations such as Seattle City Light to analyze existing organizational structures and business processes; ensure collaboration among all key stakeholders in the process redesign; and facilitate organization-wide communication to minimize resistance to change. Her work has created organizational cultures that demonstrate more integrative performance, system-thinking, and problem-solving versus victim-thinking.

Ms. Gardiol teaches a variety of graduate and non-credit classes at the University of Utah. She also teaches graduate business programs at two other universities. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management, and is the co-author of the book, Facilitating Your Own Meetings: Essential Skills for Managers and Supervisors.
